The Gun Lake Ratepayers Association is a non-profit society that serves the property owners of the Gun Lake Watershed. The Gun Lake Ratepayers mission is to protect the watershed and to foster a healthy community.
A watershed is defined as the entire area of land that moves the water it receives into a common waterbody. The Gun Lake Watershed comprises approx. 50 sqkm of mountain lands on the east side of 2634m Mount Penrose and the west side of 1244m Mount Zola.
Nestled at 2920 ft at the foot of the Dickson Range is crystal clear Gun Lake. With a perimeter of 15.4km, it is 103 m at it's deepest. Water averages 17˚c in the summer and it's covered in ice January through April.
It is the Gun Lake Community’s goal to promote sustainable and preventative actions to protect our precious watershed. Here are some suggestions on things we can all change in our household to protect & preserve the lake for future generations.
